My Name is Philip Popp, I am 45 years and live with my family in Hamburg. I work as a SAP Inhouse Consultant and Meditation teacher.

After a snowboard accident and following headaches I came to a Meditation course in a Buddhist monastery in Thailand in 2002.

Since then I am practicing Vipassana Meditation in the Theravada lineage of the Venerable Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo. After many reatreats in Germany I started in 2010 teacher training. Under supervision of my teacher Khun Thanat Chindaporn I stayed in several visits one year in the temple in Chomtong, Thailand assisting and teaching. 2016 I was authorized as Vipassana Meditation Teacher by the Venerable Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo. In May 2017 I was awarded with the “Annual Benefactor of Buddhism Award” on a regional level in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In a 3-year Weekend study program “Systematic Buddhist Studies” at the Tibetean Center in Hamburg I deepened my knowledge about the philosophical aspects of Buddhism and Meditation.

It is my wish to teach Vipassana Meditation in a modern western Society keeping its deep essence and roots. The technique will therefore be taught by individual instructions between teacher and Student as it is common in Asia.
